ABOUT LEARNING AND DOUBTS
If you’ve ever thought about going to yacht school while looking at sails at sea, you probably have a lot of questions and doubts. We understand this, because everyone in our sailing gang has also once been in the same situation and wondered if they need it and can handle it. That’s why we are organizing for you:
OPEN DAYS AT GOOD CAPTAIN YACHTING SCHOOL
- Walk around the dock and see our training yachts.
- Go to the boat and see how it is organized inside – cabins, galley and other amenities.
- Inspect the rigging and estimate the physical loads (spoiler: they are not big).
- Talk to the instructor about seasickness and your other fears.
- Discuss the training program and get valuable recommendations.
- And, of course, get detailed answers to all your questions about learning to sail
HOW TO GET ON A TOUR
Step 1. SIGN UP
We do not receive guests on a daily basis. It is important for us that when you come to our berth, you spend your time in the most interesting way possible. And for this we need to prepare:
- make sure the boat is free for visiting guests,
- make sure the instructor has time to show you everything and answer your questions.,
- make sure the weather will be good,
So, to get to our next open day, you need to sign up. After that our manager will contact you, tell you the nearest date when we are hosting and send you an invitation.
Step 2. COME
On the appointed day and hour we will be waiting for you at our berth.
At the berth we will give you a tour, tell you everything, show you everything and answer all your questions. It usually takes about an hour.
TEST RUN
Sometimes guests come to us with such deep doubts about their sailing abilities (fear of water, fear of seasickness, uncertainty about their own physical abilities, etc.) that the kind-hearted instructor cannot remain indifferent and calls them to go to sea right here and now.
In this case, he will gently take you out of the marina on a yacht, and knowing about your doubts (and he knows about all doubts, he has a lot of experience), he will quickly convince you that yachting is not about fear and trembling, but about the wind in your hair and happy smiles. Trust your instructor, you are in good hands!
