One journey from frustrated learners to the founders of Good Captain
Once upon a time, in the coastal town of Varna, Bulgaria, there lived a couple named Max and Anastasia. Both had a burning desire to learn how to sail and explore the vast seas. They dreamt of embarking on thrilling adventures and experiencing the freedom that comes with sailing.
However, their enthusiasm quickly turned into frustration when they discovered the limited options and unsatisfactory experiences offered by the sailing schools in their area.

Max and Anastasia encountered grumpy captains who made learning feel more like a chore than a joyful experience. They believed that sailing should be fun, filled with pleasure and excitement. Determined to change the status quo, Max and Anastasia made a life-changing decision. They would put an end to the pain and disappointment they had encountered and create a sailing school that would revolutionize the way people learned to sail.

To achieve their goal, Max and Anastasia knew they needed to acquire extensive knowledge and expertise in sailing. They embarked on a journey of learning, seeking out the best sailing certifications and training programs available. They enrolled in courses offered by ICC Bulgaria, ISSA, RYA and NauticEd, immersing themselves in the theory and practical aspects of sailing. They dedicated countless hours to honing their skills and understanding the intricacies of seamanship, navigation, VHF marine radio and boat handling.

Driven by their passion, Max and Anastasia decided to take their sailing education one step further. They embarked on a daring adventure, sailing from the picturesque Croatian town of Shibenic to their home country, Bulgaria. The journey was not without its challenges, but they embraced each obstacle as an opportunity to grow and learn. Through stormy weather and calm seas, they navigated their way back to Varna, bringing with them a sailing yacht that would become the foundation of their dream sailing school.

Their vision was clear—to provide a sailing learning experience that was engaging, educational, and enjoyable. They wanted to create a warm and welcoming environment where students would feel inspired and supported as they embarked on their own sailing journeys.
