• No prior certification required

• Minimum age: 10 years old

This is a certified program, meaning you are eligible for an international certificate upon successful completion. However, you may choose to skip requesting the certificate if you plan to continue with the Inshore Skipper course. In that case, this program will be fully credited toward your skipper training.

Whether you’re starting with the basics or building on existing experience, this course covers everything you need to become a capable and confident skipper.

Learn to master sail handling, vessel maneuvering, docking, anchoring, weather analysis, and safety protocols. With friendly, experienced instructors by your side, you’ll not only gain technical competence but also enjoy unforgettable moments on the water.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Coastal Navigation & Passage Planning

Understand charts, tides, and electronic navigation to confidently plan and execute coastal passages.

• Seamanship & Boat Handling

Practice essential techniques such as anchoring, berthing, docking, and managing emergencies like MOB (Man Overboard).

• Weather & Safety Awareness

Learn to interpret forecasts and cloud formations and understand safety procedures for varying sea conditions.

• Captain’s Responsibilities

Develop leadership, communication, and crew management skills — essential traits of a trusted skipper.

• Certification for Chartering

Upon successful completion, you will receive the ISSA Inshore Skipper license, accepted by charter companies and insurers worldwide.

Certification & Licensing

Graduates receive the International ISSA Inshore Skipper License, which allows you to:

• Operate vessels up to 24 meters (78 feet)

• Sail up to 20 nautical miles from shore

• Command vessels in good weather and moderate conditions
